‘My work explores the beauty nature creates through it’s everyday functions. I use what I call raw nature, exploring the form of natural objects and drawing attention to their beauty.’

Peter is a graduate of Falmouth University College of Arts and has a BA in Three Dimensional Design for Sustainability. He began his business in 2005 in Falmouth – Cornwall. Since then he has moved his studio to London and is now part of a creative collective in Gipsy Hill, where his jewellery making is part of a mixture of creative disciplines. Peter is also a member of the Crafts Council and sells his work throughout the UK as well as at regular open studio events at the Gipsy Hill Workshops.

Peter’s work has led him to create jewellery for men and women for a variety of occasions. His pieces are handcrafted and hand cast in resin, finished with, silver, bronze, gold, natural leather and suede.

All his creations are made according to the philosophy that if you value something you will sustain it. In this way Peter aims to create jewellery and products that become intrinsic to peoples’ lifestyles, personal environment and identity, in order to combat wastefulness and a sense of dissatisfaction that today’s consumer society can often encounter.

A key trait of every piece created by Peter is the interaction of the wearer in creating it. Peter’s customers are encouraged to be a part of the design process and often engage in hunting for components in the great outdoors.

‘Interaction with our surrounding environment is what I promote. I hope this will carry through into other areas of my customers’ lives and generate a better awareness and observation of the world’s unique environments.’

This year Peter has developed, prototyped and produced jewellery for London Fashion Week, commissioned by designer Shee Fun Chan for fashion designer Ann-Sofie Back, worked as a consultant on the development of a range of products for Advertising Agency Wieden & Kennedy and encapsulated Damien Hirst’s food art from his YUM YUM collection. He has also been featured in Glimpse Online, exhibited with Gill Wing Jewellery, Polka Dot Gallery, @ Work Contemporary Jewellery, Nicola Hurst, Cornwall Contemporary, Spindrift Gallery, Colette Hazelwood, Picture House Gallery and Exeter Museum’s Crafts Case.
